Sims has good strength in his lower half that he uses well on the mound, creating momentum from the bottom up to create very good arm speed. His power pitch is a 90-94 fastball and a sharp mid-70s curveball. The curveball comes out of his hand looking like a fastball and he has excellent command of it. A changeup rounds out his repertoire, throwing all three pitches with confidence. Perfect Game ranks Sims #4 nationally among all right-handed pitchers.
