Mason McCaw is a 2027 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-8 118 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley. Ran a 8.67 sixty-yard dash at the event. Smaller compact frame with some agile parts. The primary first baseman showed good accuracy during his time on the infield. Fields from a tall stance with the ball being fielded directly between his legs. Has some choppy, inconsistent footwork with clean transfers from fielding into his throws. The secondary pitcher used a small side saddle step to gain balance on the mound through his delivery and work toward the plate. His slot plays at 3/4 with really good pitch ability skills. Working a majority of his batters backwards, with first pitch off-speed. The curve ball was his primary pitch, throwing it about 70% of the time. It featured sharp 1/7 action with some tight spin and good arm speed. During BP, McCaw showed off his athleticism hitting from a narrow and open stance. Had a lot of movement in his upper body and hands before loading into his timing mechanism. Showed good opposite field contact with a whippy barrel. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
