Owen Mongeon is a 2026 OF/RHP/C/IF with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Shrewsbury, MA who attends Shrewsbury. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes shorter steps on the approach, fields the ball to side, late acceleration into release, longer arm action through the back, works through it well and will continue to refine balance in release, shows some present strength with accuracy to intended base from a higher slot. Similar high slot on throws across the infield, young footwork in actions with extra step; receives the ball out front behind the plate, deeper set up with upper body release, tends to stride open, shows accuracy on throws down to second base. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch with a simple operation, belt high leg raise with slight gather on back; worked around the zone and pitched to contact, topped out at 73 mph with fastball and able to elicit weaker contact. Mixed a 12-6 shaped curveball which he landed for strikes in the zone. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a bent knee and narrow set up; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball with hands, upper body dominant swing and can continue to shift additional weight through lower half moving into contact. best when working on a linear plane, comfort going to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Bat speed will continue to develop with additional strength, shows some handle for the barrel.
