2022 National Underclass West Showcase
Edgar Hernandez is a 2023 SS/OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Glenwood Springs, CO who attends Roaring Fork. Tall, slender build. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.90 seconds. Primary middle infielder, worked through the ball with a tendency to get the glove down late. Was comfortable throwing from multiple arm slots, was clocked up to 78 mph on throws across. Also worked out in the outfield, came to the ball well, was aggressive, throws from an over the top arm slot displaying good accuracy. From the mound, throws from an over the top arm slot with a semi-windup tall and fall delivery. The fastball sat 71-75 mph with slight downhill angle, paired with a curveball that sat 61 mph with 12-6 action. At the plate, hits from a really narrow upright even base, with a leg kick and slight pre pitch hand movement. Has a simple swing the stayed through the zone making soft contact. Good student.
