2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Ethan Gardner is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-4 160 lb. frame from Meridian, ID who attends Borah Senior. He showed good speed with a 6.90 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a longer athletic build. In the outfield he showed good actions working to the ball with an under control approach fielding the ball out front into a clean gather with a compact arm action showing good carry on his low throws. On the mound he starts with a small side step with a pivot into a belt high leg lift with a medium arm action up to a three-quarters arm slot, he showed good arm speed with more to come from the lower half as the fastball sat 80-85 mph with average extension out front. He also spun a curveball in the low 70's with 11-5 shape and average depth create swing and miss. Right-handed hitter, starts slightly open with a narrow base and high hands, he displayed good bat speed with some twitch in his hands impacting the baseball hard to the pull side on a line in batting practice as well as in game action. Very good student. Named to the 2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
