Bret Nelson is a 2023 1B/RHP, OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Cypress, CA who attends Servite. He has a tall frame with a long and lanky build and plenty of room to add muscle. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.65 seconds. Primary first baseman that fields the ball out in front of his body well with two hands. He has decent footwork around the bag and through throws. He has a solid arm, throwing accurately to each base. Secondary pitcher that that has a slightly higher than knee to belt leg kick and throws across his body. He has a compact arm action and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. His fastball is able to generate run, especially arm side. His best off speed pitch was his changeup that was effective missing barrels and he showed a lot of confidence in. His curveball has sharpness to it when he releases it out in front. Offensively, he starts in a wide stance and uses a toe tap trigger. He has an opposite field approach and showed some bat speed. Good student.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
