Austin Thompson is a 2024 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Chaparral. Thompson works from a medium projectable build with additional room to fill out and add strength. From the OF, he showcased an aggressive approach through the baseball with a full arm stroke, ultimately topping out at 83 mph. He successfully generates arm speed through release with room to loosen up and use the full potential of the frame. On the mound, he displayed an up tempo operation with an early hand break, releasing from a high 3/4 slot to top out at 76 mph. He flashed developing spin profile in the arsenal with vertical depth present on the CB. Offensively, the righty started from a narrow open base with a high hand set producing consistent contact to all parts of the field. Expect additional power potential to come into play as the barrel control refines. Posted an exit velo of 78 mph. Ran a 7.22 sixty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
