2024 Atlantic Coast High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
Jacob Wiggs is a 2027 2B/RHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Greenville, SC who attends Southside Christian Schools. Medium frame with some dense muscle tone, room to add physicality and time to refine athleticism. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.33 seconds. Primary position inflelder, moving pretty well and playing low through his angles. Glove work is refined and on point as he secures the ball confidently. Clean midline transfer to quick release leading to feeds up to 82 mph across the diamond. Showed excellent dexterity on the slow roller play as well. Reps in the outfield, with similar actions using one hand transfer and full inline path and 80 mph throws back to infield. Secondary position RHP, using full windup from the stretch on the 1B side of the rubber, small step in front to very abbreviated leg lift where he changes timing, sinks heavily into his legs before breaking hands at the belt, rushes down the slope and gets into his base pretty well, turns the hips inward to load in transition, honestly gets quite a bit out of his core, fastball up to 81 mph true through the zone maybe a touch of ride here and there, showed a couple tight sliders in the low-70s with pretty good spin traits was his best off speed, vertical breaker with rolling shape in the low-60s, flashed a couple low-70s changeups that held lefties at bay. RHH with an even and pretty upright stance, high handset with a bit of barrel tilt and small quick leg lift to get going. Gets on plane to impact and uses pull oriented approach. Spraying the ball around the field, swinging with intent as the round progressed and shows hitterish traits that should play long term. Elite performer in the classroom as well.
