Daniel Laieta is a 2026 RHP/SS with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Shoreham, NY who attends Shoreham-Wading River. Works from a lean athletic frame with long limbs and physical upside. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts from the first base side of the rubber, utilizes a quick-paced full wind-up delivery and a bigger compact leg lift, releases from a high three-quarters slot, fastball showed some arm-side run and topped out at 77 mph, curveball showed some vertical depth and was mixed in well, flashed a changeup with some fade, projects for more velocity with added strength. Secondary shortstop, covers ground and works through the baseball well, displayed smooth glove actions, utilizes a shorter arm stroke, delivered accurate throws, recorded arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider base with tight hands and a low back elbow, utilizes a negative toe tap trigger, bat path is a bit lengthy, works the whole field, recorded an exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.83 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
