Matthew Shea is a 2026 RHP/3B/MIF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Killingworth, CT who attends Haddam-Killingworth. Medium, athletic frame with narrow shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, full windup on the mound, shows arm speed coming through the backside and comfort mixing three pitches throughout. Commands fastball well, topped out at 79 mph and worked around the zone, occasionally opens front side early but good when staying through the ball; spins the curveball well with big shape and late biting action while turning over the changeup well up to 69 mph with low spin rates. Three pitches around the zone and mixed effectively, nice upside. Clean and fluid arm action across the infield, ball shows true carry and accuracy, works on top of it consistently, can drop slot as needed and shows comfort in repeating actions. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Keeps hands inside the ball from launch through contact, higher finish through the ball. Gets mistimed on occasion, best contact to pull side and shows ability to create lift in path when getting the barrel out front, line drive carry when squared. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
