Jimmy Downs is a 2025 3B/1B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Kenwood Academy. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, actions play well on the corner, fields it out front, compact arm action with plenty of strength and carry across the diamond, can quicken overall actions, on top of throws nicely. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even bae and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; generates big bat speed through the zone and creates big impact at the point of contact. Turns the barrel efficiently and shows quick hands with hard contact to all fields, repeats swing well and lived on the barrel in live action. Short swing with extension through the point of contact; recorded a 97 mph exit velocity in testing. Named to the Midwest Indoor Top. Verbal commitment to Northern Illinois.
