2023 West Coast Prospect Showcase
Silas Buelna is a 2024 1B/LHP with a sturdy 6-0 210 lb. frame from Redding, CA who attends Shasta HS. A primary first baseman that pitches as well. At first base Buelna showed the ability to make all the required plays and throws. Showed the proper fielding and footwork techniques and turned a smooth double play. At the plate he showed present hand strength, rhythm, timing, extension through contact, and was able to barrel up the baseball with some consistency employing a pull approach. Good student.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
