2022 Pitcher / Catcher Indoor Showcase
Devon Cook is a 2024 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Hempstead. He has a medium frame with a slender build and plenty of room to add strength. Primary left-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch. He uses a knee to above the belt leg kick that is smooth and controlled. He odes a nice job of working in line with the plate and pushing down the mound with his drop and drive mechanics. He has a small and in line arm circle and throws from an over the top delivery. He has a clean motion that is easily repeated. His fastball is straight and he primarily worked it away from opposing hitters. His curveball has 1-7 shape with developing sharpness and depth. His slider has tight vertical drop and he throws it harder than his curveball. Left-handed hitter that starts with narrow feet and an open and upright stance. He has a high back elbow and uses a longer stride to start his swing. He has a flat bat path and looks to hit line drives into the gaps. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
