2023 West Academic Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Grayden Baker is a 2026 RHP/3B, OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Henderson, NV who attends Liberty. Smaller athletic build. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher showed a developing three pitch-mix out of a three-quarter slot. Fundamentally sound mechanics with controllable movements throughout that all him to throw strikes with the stuff. Mid 70's fastballs topping out at 77, an upper 60's curve that showed consistent shape and feel for turning over a change up in the low 60's. Velo separation on each offering to go with the ability to locate. Also worked out in the outfield showing some fundamental footwork to the baseball, ability to make the routine play and an accurate throwing arm. Hit from a balanced stance, showed developing bat speed and an up the middle approach. Excellent student.
