2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Jesse Garza is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Pharr, TX who attends PSJA. Big and strong square shouldered athletic build. Has a simple turn and throw delivery with a compact arm action in back and a 3/4's arm slot, low effort streamlined mechanics. Fastball topped out 87 mph and sat in the mid-80's, had nice hard sinking life and lived down in the zone. Showed nice feel for his breaking ball and mixing up shapes and location while also landing it consistently for strikes. Over matched hitters and struck out all nine hitters he faced. Left handed hitter, sets up in a balanced and slightly open stance, gets into his back hip well to drive his bat, has bat speed and the ability to drive the ball, is a two-way prospect as a pitcher/hitter. 8.14 runner in the sixty. Plays corner infield on defense and projects at first base down the road. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
