Cohen Payne is a 2026 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-5 120 lb. frame from Burlington, NC who attends Burlington Christian Academy. A lean frame and slender build. Ran an 8.11 60-yard dash. A primary outfielder who was patient as he worked to it. He had choppy steps on his approach as he gathered and worked into the throws. Threw 68 mph from the outfield. A left-handed hitter who has an even base with tight hands an a high back elbow. He uses a toe-tap trigger. Showed off a compact and line-drive-producing stroke. Made some pretty consistent contact. Pretty straight stance overall and was able to work the opposite field during his round of BP. Took to the mound as a left-handed pitcher who uses a small rocker step to get started. Lifts the leg with the knee getting up around the belt. He was in control of his body with a good tempo to his actions. He throws strikes and was able to fill the zone. His fastball had some natural arm-side run to it. Also showed a changeup with the spin being down to the 1,259 range with late fading action. Exceptional student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
