James Van Der Post is a 2029 RHP/C/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Round Hill, VA who attends Undecided. Recorded a 7.12 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a lean build. Primary right-handed pitcher works exclusively from the stretch. Waist-level leg kick and lands on-line. Clean, medium length and on-line arm action that brings the arm through from a high three- quarter arm slot. The fastball (2005) was 76-79 and mixed in a curveball (2159 PRM) with short to medium depth and 11-5 to 12-6 shape that he had clear feel for. Pretty tight spin to the breaking ball. Secondary outfielder with good fundamentals and took good angles to the ball. One-hand gather to the side of the body with a clean glove. Athletic mover with a medium in-line arm path. Ball carries and was accurate. Right-handed hitter starts from a medium base with even feet and a high back elbow. Long swing with a steep path and quality bat speed. Has hand strength and best power to center field. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 14u Coastal All-State Games Top Prospect List.
