Jack Bieda is a 2024 C/MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Pasadena, MD who attends Mount Saint Joseph. Medium frame with good, young catcher build, nice athleticism and plenty of time to add physicality. Primary position C, working from an offset stance and sitting deep in his stance showing necessary flexibility. Good hop in his step, putting him in position to use his quick transfer for accurate throws on the bag. He gains good ground, with a clean line and compact arm action where he produced throws up to 77 mph and a pop time best 2.06 seconds. Glove work will soften with time but he handled pitchers very well. Performed in game action, throwing out a runner at 2B displaying simple accurate mechanics. RHH starting from an even stance with a high handset, high back elbow and good balance throughout. Hanging toe tap trigger as he loads and uses small bat tilt to activate hands into a short path to impact. Gets on plane with the ball using a mostly pull oriented approach peppering line drives in the gap. On the barrel a lot, emerging power that should play out as he builds strength in the coming months. Skill set to be an offensive catcher at the next level. Good student.
