John Dawson is a 2024 RHP/IF/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Bastrop, TX who attends Bastrop. Long high waisted young build with plenty of projection left. Has a loose arm on the mound with a low 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with lots of running life, curveball flashed some tightness and depth at times when he was on top of it at release, Right handed hitter, has a well timed swing with a simple load and shift into contact, has some hand quickness and gets the barrel out front on time, had an accurate barrel and squared the ball up consistently in batting practice and in the games. 7.58 runner in the sixty, worked out in both the infield and outfield and looked more natural in the outfield, moves well in the outfield and makes on line throws with some carry from a long and loose arm action. Good student.
