DJ Clifford is a 2025 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Newburgh, NY who attends Newburgh Free Academy. Taller lean build with the type of frame to add physicality to quickly. Projectable pitchers type frame with good athleticism. Primary position RHP, working from the full windup and starting with hands set in front of face. Good posture over the rubber and breaks hands at the chest to work into over-the-top arm path. Creates big shoulder tilt to transition down the slope and really rides to foot strike. Command would come and go a bit but there is a lot of raw potential here. FB up to 80 mph, sitting in the upper-70s with spin in the 2,000s. CB is an emerging pitch with mostly vertical shape and just needs some more tightness. CH shows good metrics with its low-spin rate and fading action. Will get underneath the off speed pitches from time-to-time but the potential is evident. Took reps in the OF as well, working with his glove off to the side and using a deliberate midline transfer. Winding up a bit to throw but the arm strength really showed here as he reached 85 mph on feeds to the infield. RHH working from a wider base and high back elbow as he loads into his back side before working to contact. Really emphasizes using his hands in the swing, will get a bit rotational but when on time made the ball jump. Worked the middle of the field well with nice line drives as he works to create leverage. Young athlete with good tool set and will be interesting to see where his talent takes him. Very good student as well.
