2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Preston Dean is a 2025 C/2B/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Lassiter. Features a medium sized compact build with some noticeable strength. Ran a 7.10 60-yd dash. Behind the plate, he sets up in a taller side saddle. Showed a clean exchange. Footwork was correct where he replaced his feet well with decent quickness. Throws were uphill and accurate to the bag showing avg. arm strength. He collected a caught stealing during gameplay. At the plate, he showed a simple/compact RH stroke. He sits in a relaxed/upright stance. He loads early uses a simple forward move and gets the barrel into a good launch. Hands stay inside the baseball and throw the barrel on a clean uphill path with a shorter finish. Exhibited avg. bat/hand speed for his level. Some inconsistencies in his timing throughout his BP round. His approach stayed through the middle of the field with some quality barrels to the RC gap.
