2022 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Matthew Cruz is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 5-10 151 lb. frame from North Bellmore, NY who attends St. Dominic. Cruz was effective in multiple aspects of the game, working from a projectable medium build with additional room to fill out and develop. From his primary spot on the bump, Cruz displayed immediate life out of the hand up to 85 mph, challenging hitters up in the zone with the ability to change tempo and throw off the timing of hitters. He flashed a wipeout 10-4 slider on command and located the arsenal well. From the OF, Cruz also touched 85 mph getting behind the ball well with quick transitions and low accurate throws on target. At the dish, he started from a slightly open stance with plenty of bat speed to create loud impact gap to gap. Ran a 6.90 sixty yard dash. Named to Mid-Atlantic Indoor Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
