Joey Maiella is a 2027 C/RHP/1B/3B with a 5-10 153 lb. frame from North Haledon, NJ who attends Seton Hall Preparatory. Maiella worked as a primary C on the event, starting from a side saddle set flashing solid ground gained in the footwork with a consistent compact release. He produced throws around the bag with arm strength that should continue to see development in the future. Posted a 2.29 pop time. On the mound, the righty worked exclusively from the stretch utilizing a compact chest high hand set with a shorter arm stroke that saw the FB touch 71 mph. He released from a higher 3/4 slot and has additional room to create drive from the back side and work down the mound. CB in arsenal at 1670 rpm. Offensively, Maiella started from a slightly open base and successfully got the front foot down early to produce contact to all parts of the field. He has room to get more direct through the zone with power becoming more prominent in the future. Posted an exit velo of 76 mph. Ran a 8.57 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
