Tomas Lopez is a 2023 RHP/C/3B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Redondo Beach, CA who attends Redondo Union. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Right-handed pitcher, stays over the rubber well, short take back and hides the ball well through the back, present arm speed working to a high three-quarters release point with some extension out front. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, generates lots of running life to arm side with sinking action. Shows comfort spinning the breaking ball with depth and 11-5 shape. Projects well moving forward. Right-handed hitter, begins with a balance d and slightly open stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Loads well at start of swing, holds angles well in swing and stays through the baseball at point of contact, consistent handle for the barrel with sound, repeatable mechanics, best contact to the middle of the field. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
