Easton Cantrell is a 2027 C/RHP/3B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Santa Fe, TX who attends Santa Fe. Medium athletic build with some present strength. Left handed hitter, starts from an open stance with a well timed shift into contact, pretty repeatable mechanics, gets the barrel out consistently and squared up lots of balls to right center, turns the barrel well and has barrel skills, projects as a hitter. 7.40 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has good footwork in his actions and throwing and is pretty sound fundamentally for his age, gets on top of his throws well and makes accurate throws. Also worked out in the infield and outfield but is best suited to staying behind the plate. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a slow to fast paced delivery, compact high 3/4's catcher's arm action. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, got some ride at the top of the zone for some swing/miss and some cut and sink down in the zone. Curveball was a solid second pitch with some downer life and depth. Solid athlete who should keep improving in all areas. Named to the 13U/14U South Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
