Hudson Simmons is a 2028 OF/1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Christian. Medium, athletic build with room to continue filling out the frame. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitter, narrow and upright stance with a high back elbow. Lofted path with whip to the barrel and impacts out front regularly. Gets into the lower half well and stays connected nicely, performs at a high level in game action too. Primary outfielder, aggressive on the charge in and worked through the baseball nicely, carries momentum through with a one hand funnel on the side of the frame, worked uphill into throws with accuracy around the bag. Good arm strength and easy to project more, recorded throws up to 83 mph. Secondary first baseman, bounces off the bag with clear athleticism, hands work out front nicely, fundamentally sound movements, clean and quick turns, has ability to change slots and was just as accurate here, recorded throws up to 84 mph. Also pitched, side steps into a shallow leg lift, long arm path to a high three-quarters slot and some whip to the arm. Loose arm action and projects in a big way. Ran the fastball up to 83 mph (1926 RPM) and showed good feel for three pitch mix. Curveball with 1-7 shape, up to 68 mph (2227 RPM) and a changeup, up to 73 mph (1578 RPM). Excellent student. Selected to the 2024 14u PG Select Festival.
