2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Dawson Griffis is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Baxley, GA who attends Appling County High School. Big and strong athletic build, especially for a sophomore. 7.25 runner in the sixty. Has very good athleticism behind the plate on defense, good hands receiving the ball, has lower half mobility for his size, nice arm strength, throws downhill and stays on top of the ball well, quick exchange from glove to hand. Right handed hitter, starts his swing with a toe turn load with no lower half shift, can improve his strong lower half use to drive his bat speed, short hands driven swing, has strength at contact and can drive the ball with carry when he's on time, best pulling the ball. Plenty of projection as a hitter with adjustments given his strength. Excellent student. Also a football standout. Named to the Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
