Luke Chynoweth is a 2027 2B/C/SS with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Cottage Grove, WI who attends Monona Grove. Medium young build with plenty of room to fill in and get stronger. 7.46 runner in the sixty. Primary second baseman on defense. In the INF, showed fundamental actions. Plays low to the ground and hands/glove set early and field it clean/soft at reception. At times flat footed but at others works through it well. Avg. quickness to release, getting into some extra shuffles. Used a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws across with avg. strength. Behind the plate, operated from a knee down and side saddle set up. Quick/fluid exchange that occurs at the mid-chest. Works to a quick release getting off downhill throws to the bag with avg. strength. Feet work in-line but don't gain much ground toward 2nd. At the plate, operated from a balanced stance. Initiates with a slight sway/gather into the backside within a smaller lift. Easy effort stroke with clean turn of the barrel on a slight uphill path with some length through. Avg. bat/hand speed for his level which lead to avg. impact off the barrel. At times didn't get off backside and clear hips. Majority of contact was on-barrel and were backspun flyballs to the middle of the field.
