Kaine Ellis is a 2026 C/1B/IF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Brooksville, FL who attends Hernando. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Primary catcher on defense, sets up low and has quick and flexible lower half actions, blocks well side to side and comes out of his crouch quickly, quick and compact release on his throws, quickness over arm strength, game actions in drills, makes accurate throws and will throw out runners, plays with the energy you like to see on a catcher. Left handed hitter, hits from a narrow slightly open start with a simple and repeatable load and trigger, clean swing mechanics he repeats well, line drive contact to the pull side and mid field. Defense stood out and a good bet to continue to improve offensively. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
