Austin Collins is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Helena, AL who attends Helena. Slender young build with some lower half strength. Very compact arm action on the mound, hides the ball well, throws from a high 3/4's arm slot, works from the third base side of the mound. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight, velocity plays up some due to deception. Threw a curveball as his second pitch, showed his best break and feel for the pitch in the low 60's, tends to flatten out when he tries to throw it harder. Developing change up with a slower body on release. Improved through his outing as he found his rhythm and wasn't overthrowing. Right handed hitter, has a short hands driven swing with an accurate barrel and a line drive plane, moves the ball around, bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. 7.06 runner in the sixty, secondary outfielder who showed a good loose arm and a quick release on his throws. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
