2024 Class of 2027 All-American Games
Matthew Villena is a 2027 C/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends Somerset Academy. Medium build with good present strength, especially in his lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a big rock back load and leg raise timer, stays on time well and swings hard, creates good bat speed and can get the ball in the air to the pull side and mid field with some carry, power over hit at present. Primary catcher on defense, gains ground into his throws with developing arm strength. Also plays the outfield, has better fundamentals here and works through the ball aggressively, gets on top of his throws well for some on line accuracy. Bat is his tool. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
