2023 South Top Prospect Games @ Texas A&M
Gavin Hickey is a 2024 C/3B with a 6-1 208 lb. frame from Irving, TX who attends Jesuit College Prep. Primary catcher with a large build showing strength throughout the frame. Works well out of the crouch with clean actions and proper footwork to put his body in good positions to make accurate throws. Showed average arm strength to all bases, recording a 2.01 second pop time to second base. Right-handed hitter showed easy strength during batting practice with big time pull side juice when he gets to his extension out front while timing up his weight shift into contact and creating leverage at the point of contact. The flashes of ability to sync up the swing and tap into the power gives him solid upside to build on moving forward. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
