Ryan Benavides is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Clear Brook. Slender athletic build, prototypical middle infielder's look, plenty of room to get stronger. 6.35 runner in the sixty. Outstanding mover in the middle infield on defense, has plus/plus range and works around the ball extremely well, very quick feet, fluid glove work and stays low to the ground, plenty of arm strength and is smooth in his arm slot changes, made some outstanding game plays going in the hole to show his range, arm and athleticism. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a high hand load, swings hard and will over swing at times and get too downhill, shows better barrel control in the games and moves the ball around, bat speed will continue to improve as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Also pitched, has a high leg raise delivery with good tempo, arm action is short and compact from a 3/4's arm slot, stays on line down the mound well. Fastball worked consistently in the mid-80's and topped out at 87 mph. Slider was a very good pitch at times with excellent spin and hard sweeping action. Potential elite level defensive player in the middle of the field and fun to watch play. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Texas Showcase Top Prospect List.
