Ian Herrington is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Meridian, MS who attends West Lauderdale. Ran a 7.28 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher with solid mechanics and good compact delivery. Long, loose arm action takes a long, unrestricted circle in back to three-quarter slot release. Extension out front, especially to fastball which featured life and good downward plane at 87-mph. Ability to move his fastball around the zone for swing-and-miss with good control and developing command in present skill set. Curveball at 70-mph with ability to get on-top and pull it down, creating 11/5 shape, on occasion 12/6 vertical break with depth. Ability to mix both pitches in all counts with evident pitch-ability. Secondary corner-infielder with developing range and a strong arm that produced throws at 85-mph with carry and accuracy across the infield. Slightly open stance with hands outside his chest in the box. Level to high swing plane with barrel strength out front. Power profile to the gaps, due to strength in hands that helps generate bat speed and barrel whip for hard-hit result. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
