2022 Western Pennsylvania Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Tyner Simpson is a 2023 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Johnson City, TN who attends Providence Academy. Recorded a 7.18 second sixty-yard dash time. From his primary IF spot, Simpson showcased clear athleticism and natural ability with clean glove work and quick transitions. He flashed carry and arm strength across the diamond up to 81 mph. This velo translated to the mound, where the righty used a funky delivery and 3/4 arm slot to work both corners of the plate. Simpson has a developing arsenal that includes a 12-6 curveball as well as a changeup with fading action to it. Offensively, he started from a wider base with a toe tap trigger to produce pull side line drive contact. He displayed raw hand speed through the zone, posting an exit velo of 83 mph. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
