Carlos Cornejo is a 2025 SS/RHP, C, 3B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Chino, CA who attends Diamond Bar. Recorded a 7.24 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and developing build. Short-arm action with quicker release on throws across the diamond at 73 mph. Hands work with developing accuracy moving laterally from shortstop. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a side step to a belt-high lift getting down the slope. Smaller arm circle behind to a 3/4 arm slot and fastball up to 76 mph (1811 RPM). Uses the lower-half strength to compress the slab and drive the ball to the plate. Curveball up to 68 mph (1410 RPM) for a secondary offering which he landed for strikes while adding and subtracting velocity and depth with it. Behind the plate he used a higher setup on throws with a balanced base while gaining ground with some carry on throws. Similar short-arm release on throws at 69 mph for a 2.13 pop time. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and really high hands that he drops into slot with weight shift and toe-tap trigger. Middle-to-opposite field approach with linear path through the zone incorporating a lot of moving parts before launch. Works best when his high hands drop into slot early for maximum impact through the zone. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
