Gabriel Marcoux is a 2023 C/3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Concord, MA who attends Phillips Exeter Academy. Medium, well-proportioned frame with present lower strength and some room to physically mature. Primary catcher that receives from a higher, slight side-saddled stance with overly aggressive glove actions and footwork out of the crouch. Gains ground towards his target, while showing some quickness to his feet and exhibits a lower mid-line transfer to get into throwing position. Recorded arm strength up to 71 mph from behind the plate during drills. Will continue to improve with proper refinements mechanically and additional repetitions. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, upright stance with a high hand set and small forward stride into contact. Incorporates deep, knee bend into a crouched position before starting swing. Contact oriented stroke with downhill swing plane and some quickness to his hands. Exhibits consistent contact and some feel for the barrel, flashes loud contact when on-time and showed some occasional pullside power potential. Will continue to improve with proper adjustments defensively, additional strength and overall refinement of his swing. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
