Seamus Patenaude is a 2023 SS/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Severna Park, MD who attends Severna Park. 7.00-second runner during the sixty. Compact, athletic build with well-proportioned strength throughout his frame. Primary shortstop, fields out in front and plays through the ball well. Sound footwork with twitchiness in his actions, showcased range going to his left and right. Up to 82 mph from across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, simple, easy operation, from a higher 3/4 arm slot. Worked at a quick tempo with good feel for the zone. Lots of life on his fastball that seems to explode out of his hand at times. Topped out at 85 mph with his fastball, sitting 81-84. Sharp 11-5 shaped curveball that flashed plus-vertical tilt, landing it for strikes in various counts. With a high-spin profile and more growth remaining, velocity will continue to tick up. Also took some reps in the outfield, again showcasing athletic actions, fielding off his front foot, and carrying his momentum through his throws well, up to 81 mph. Right-handed hitter, upright quiet stance. Simple stroke that produced a lot on well-struck line drives. Impacted the ball well to the middle of the field, creating whip with his barrel. Flashed juice to the pull side when he turned on a couple balls showing off his electric hand quickness. Intriguing two-way potential. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
