2021 Fall Gulf Coast Showcase
Nathan Schwab is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Heritage Christian Academy. Slender athletic build. Two-way prospect who projects more as an outfielder/left handed hitter than he does on the mound. Sets up in an even stance, gets his hands into slot and in a good position to barrel the ball up, swings hard and develops good bat speed with extension through contact, hits gap to gap and gets some carry on the ball, going to keep improving as a hitter with additional strength. 7.27 runner in the sixty. Has good fundamentals in the outfield with good glove work out front, gets some carry from a short and quick 3/4's arm slot. Has a loose arm action on the mound, works from a standard side step/leg raise delivery from the wind up, can vary his delivery from the stretch. Mid to upper 70's fastball, mostly straight. Flashed good depth and spin on his curveball, developing a change up. Very good student. Named to the Fall Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
