2022 Sunshine East Showcase
Jonathan Gonzalez is a 2023 SS/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends G. Holmes Braddock. Long and lean athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with a high hand load, has a loose and extended swing with good bat speed, creates leverage at contact, stays on plane well, gets solid jump off the barrel and some lift to the middle of the field and pull side, really projects as a hitter if he can continue to add strength. 6.97 runner in the sixty. Showed good hands in the middle infield on defense, rounds the ball well, good athlete who stays balanced well, plenty of arm strength across the diamond. Projectable player, especially on offense as he continues to grow. Good student, verbal commitment to Maine. Named to the Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.
