Yahil Melendez is a 2023 SS/2B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Gurabo, PR who attends Colegio Bautista de Caguas. Recorded a 7.23 second 60-yard dash time. Slender build with good athleticism and lots of room for projection. Primary shortstop with good body control and soft hands. Quickness to actions with a solid arm up to 89 mph across. Accurate throws with good footwork and feel for the position. Left-handed hitter with smoothness to the swing and loose hands. Upper half dominant swing with a very open start. Longer operation but can get the barrel head out. Can work well-struck fly balls to the pull side and middle of the field. Power projects with strength. Great student.
