2022 Jr. National Showcase
Tyler Smith is a 2024 C/SS/IF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Hollywood, FL who attends Home School. Strong and physical build. Switch-hitter at the plate, right handed swing starts with a well timed pull back load, strong and loose swing with bat speed and some power and lift, ball comes off the barrel well. Has a bigger wind up to start his left handed swing, can get off time more than right handed but has the same type of bat speed and impact on the baseball. Lots of overall hitting potential. 7.37 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has young actions and is still developing his receiving ability, sets up too high at times, some arm strength and carry on his throws. Also plays some third base. Bat is his tool. Good student.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
