Juan Diego Amescua is a 2025 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 193 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Central Catholic. Big, physical frame with broad shoulders and present strength in both halves. Ran a 7.36 60-Yard Dash. Primary shortstop, balanced footwork, direct to the baseball, efficient movements, works through it nicely, some body control, accurate arm across the diamond with low 80s arm strength at present. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full wind-up with side step to a leg lift just above the belt, some coil at the top, hides arm well through the back with some deception, three-quarters slot that can get a bit lower at times, some arm speed, will flash arm side run to the heater with occasional sink as well, solid tilt to the slider and rounds off the mix with a changeup, high effort thrower that was in the zone. Right-handed hitter, bent knee open base with high and tight hands, inward hover to launch, upward path, looseness overall, worked the middle of the field during the entirety of the round. Performed well in game, has tools to play baseball at the next level and figures to get stronger as well. Great student. Named to the 2023 National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
