Griffin DeRusso is a 2023 C/3B, OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Palmetto, FL who attends Out-Of-Door Academy. Medium frame. Stronger kid with a physical build. Ran 7.43 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who had a quick catch-and-throw, getting up out of his crouch and making a strong throw down to the bag. His throws were in a good position for a tag and often one-hopped right into the tag zone. Overall moved well through the motions well. Also worked out as an outfielder, fielding the ball off of the front foot and letting it rip, with some strength behind the throws. Right-handed hitter who has physicality present in his swing. Uses strong wrists and control of the barrel to produce some solid contact throughout the round. He has a slight leg-lift trigger that gets the weight back and gets him on time to hit, striding through with the present strength. Put together a solid round, driving the ball up the middle for success. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
