Derrick 'JR' Bedford is a 2023 SS/3B, MIF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from El Sobrante, CA who attends St. Mary's College HS. Ran a 7.07 second sixty. Primary short stop with a longer lean build. Works quick around the ball well with a good first step covering ground laterally in each direction. Does a nice job getting the ball out of the glove and showed the ability to make accrue throws from multiple arm slot with good carry across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base and open stance using a leg lift trigger to get back to even. Creates good extension out front at contact with a small weight shift forward showing developing bat speed that will continue improve with added strength. Good student.
