Dean Lopez is a 2023 SS/2B, OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Oakland, CA who attends De La Salle. Medium slender build with plenty of room to fill out as he develops. Primary infielder, stays in front of the ball well and fields out in front. Is meticulous with his glove work and arm strength will develop nicely alongside his build. At the plate, uses an upright and conventional looking stance with a simple mid leg kick trigger. Stays balanced throughout and finds solid linear shift into contact. Still developing his timing and rhythm with the pitcher, lets the ball get deep and uses the middle of the field well. Good student in the classroom as well.
