LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Wickersham is a 6-1, 200 lb infielder/pitcher who we’ve seen at events in the past. He has a third base profile body with good overall present strength. Wickersham ran the 60 in 7.67 on the slow track and threw 83 mph across the infield. He showed us good hands on ground balls and fielded the ball cleanly. Wickersham has played plenty of shortstop in the past and should transition well to third base at the next level. Offensively, he has a good balanced approach at the plate and uses his strength well to create excellent bat speed. He hit better in the showcase games against live pitching than in batting practice. Wickersham also pitched a couple of short relief stints at the showcase and showed very good arm strength. He has some effort in his delivery but was 84-86 mph and attacked the strike zone. He tended to get around his 69-72 mph curveball but this pitch could improve. Wickersham looks like he has a closer’s type attitude and enough stuff to use it at the right college program. Overall, he’s a solid 2-way talent with college level tools. Keep an eye on him.
