2006 PG Pitcher/Catcher Indoor-Feb 11-12
Tom McConnaughhay is a 2006 C/3B with a 6'0'', 200 lb. frame from Ottawa, IL, who attends Marquette High School. He is a presently strong catcher with a durable body. Behind the plate he has sure hands and receives the ball well with confidence. McConnaughhay sets up well behind the plate and looks comfortable and in charge. Shows good footwork on his throws as well as in blocking balls in the dirt. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with raw power in his swing. McConnaughhay uses a line drive swing plane and makes consistent contact. He stays balanced throughout his swing and gets good leverage at the point of contact. He really likes the ball on the inner half looking to turn on the ball and hit it hard. McConnaughhay can hit and he still has upside as a hitter. He has a good future ahead of him.
