Michael Shepa is a 2019 LHP/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Bethany, CT who attends Amity Regional Senior. Medium and projectable build with some present physical strength especially in the lower half. Ran a 5.38 second 40 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple side step to a high leg lift, full arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, arm works well, coils and bends at balance point, good use of the front side, slight crossfire delivery, gets over front foot well, arm is continually on time through circle, arm speed is still developing but there’s some strength there, really good command to both sides of the plate with a three pitch mix. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, good feel for curveball that has 1-to-7 shape and depth, changeup has good sink and could look to use changeup more. Also took reps in the outfield, long strides to ball fielding out front, crow hop into throws with a full arm action, average arm strength, should work on staying on top of ball for better carry. Lefthanded hitter, slightly open stance, strides on line getting closed into contact, short hand path to the ball, should work on keeping front side closed to stay through contact, can get extended at times, baseball comes off well when squared. Good student.
