Ethan Casas-Wu is a 2022 C/3B/MIF with a 5-10 178 lb. frame from San Mateo, CA who attends Aragon. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned to frame. Primary catcher, slight turn to set up behind the plate in drills, receives the ball out front, gains ground coming out of crouch, sound catch and throw skills, online to the intended base and repeats footwork, consistent actions. Funnels ball into body well in the infield, proper footwork coming through the ball, makes accurate throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, begins with a balanced and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Deeper hand load at start, incorporates strength well and creates bat speed through the zone, works on a mostly linear plane with extension out front and generates nice carry to the gaps. Very good student. Named to NorCal Workout Top Prospect List.
